am i an investor or am i a gambler? am i making deposits into my future for my benefit? or am i taking risks and betting on the outcome?
investing is intentionally putting my assets- my time, energy, money, words, thoughts, talents- toward the most promising, productive, and profitable use for it. taking a multivitamin is a small investment in my future health. the odds are in my favor as an investor.
gambling is playing a game of chance with my assets, risking it all and hoping for an advantage. smoking cigarettes would be gambling on my future health. the odds are against me as a gambler.
every day i have the choice to be an investor or a gambler when i choose how to spend my valued assets. my days reflect how i either invested or i gambled yesterday, last month, last year. from the foods i eat, to the people i spend time with, and the things i spend my money on, i'm either gambling or i'm investing with my life
in my faith
in my marriage
with my children
with my health
in my friendships.
i want to be an investor.
teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom.
-psalm 90:12
Lord, i trust You with my life and i am so thankful for the plans You have for me. thank You God for reminding me to number my days, to not take my breath and blessings for granted. Father, help me become more of an investor and not a gambler with the gifts You've given me. thank You God for eternal perspective, wisdom, and divine purpose. thank You Father for helping me manage my assets wisely according to Your Will. amen.
