a quick story...when i was 18 i went to Cancun for 5 days with a dozen of my friends from high school. snorkeling, white beaches, sight-seeing, infinity pools, all of that. when i arrived back home and unpacked my sandy luggage, i made an impressive pyramid of film canisters on the kitchen counter. (remember film canisters!? so glad we don't have do deal with those anymore!) i had taken a zillion pictures on my vacation, of course! i mentioned to my Mom and Dad that i needed to have the film developed so i could show them how much fun i had in Cancun.
my Mom said something obvious like "that's a lot of film." but i remember exactly what my Dad said, "i hope you didn't spend your entire vacation behind the camera." ooohh...burn. i hear his booming voice repeat that in my mind whenever i'm having fun and time is flying, to make sure i'm not spending any precious moments behind the camera.
lucky for me, my camera ran out of batteries and i couldn't find my memory card this week. so all i have are a few shots from my phone, just a tiny glimpse of all the fun we had, and it's totally fine with me.
