how much space is in between you and God?
is praying the same as tossing a penny into a fountain? do you think "well, maybe God will answer me. or maybe not"? do you ever not bother taking the time to pray because you aren't confident that you'll get a response from Him? or maybe you don't think you'll get the response you should get?
when you think about God, where is He? do you think of a far away place, maybe up high in the heavens? is there vast, blue sky separating you and God?
is God on-call in your life? only showing up in your life when you need Him? are you closest to God on Sunday mornings at church?
i'm thinking about the space between. i'm wanting it filled it with Jesus.
i want every breath, every thought, every word, to turn back to Him. i want to devour His Word and live out His commandments. i want God with me all the time. He is here, always. He is responding before i even have a need. He is ever present.
i want my faith and confidence in Him to be like nothing else. no more wishy washy "i hope" and "i wish." all i want in this space is "i know God will." our relationship isn't distant. i'm close with God. He is my friend! my confidant! healer. rewarder. provider. sustainer. my Prince of Peace. for real. those aren't just words.
there is no space between me and my God. there is no room for doubt. there is no space for me. there is no space for the world. there is no space for the enemy when the space between is filled with Jesus.
-------------------------
Though you have not seen him, you love him;
and even though you do not see him now,
you believe in him and are filled
with an inexpressible and glorious joy,
for you are receiving the end result of your faith,
the salvation of your souls.
-1 Peter 1:8-9 NIV
Now faith is confidence in what we hope for
and assurance about what we do not see.
And without faith it is impossible to please God,
because anyone who comes to him
must believe that he exists and that he rewards
those who earnestly seek him.
-Hebrews 11:1, 6 NIV
