my night stand is buried under a mountain of books. i love books. i love to read. i haven't jumped on the e-book train yet because i love holding books and dog-earring pages and the way books smell and feel. i love it when the words are just a little bit risen, so that i can feel them when i run my fingers over the page. i love the way the front cover of a book will bow out or flip up from being opened and held. i love the way the spine cracks. i have a habit of reading several books at a time, in little bits and pieces here and there. i also re-read them, highlight them, and mark my own notes in the margins. if you've been following me for a while, you might notice that a couple of these books have a permanent place on my night stand.
