Days 22-28
it was a week full of giving, mostly giving thanks to God. He fills our storehouses with blessings and covers us with a blanket of grace. always.
the 30-Day Giving Challenge has helped me realize how easy it is to give. i've seen first hand that giving is a win-win-win: i win, the recipient wins, and God wins. i've found in His Word undying promises to bless the thankful givers.
"Accept the gifts I have brought for you.
God has been good to me and I have more than enough."
-Genesis 33:11
"A stingy planter gets a stingy crop; a lavish planter gets a lavish crop...
God loves it when the giver delights in the giving! God can pour on the blessings in
astonishing ways so that you're ready for anything and everything,
more than just ready to do what needs to be done."
-2 Cor 9:6
i want to live a life that gives lavishly. giving delights me, because it delights Him. if i stay busy giving to others, God will stay busy blessing me. He will astonish me, and make me more than ready to do His work.
Thanksgiving isn't just a 1-day thing. sure we only celebrate the holiday once a year but actual giving thanks is a year-round command. "Sing and make music in your heart to the Lord, always giving thanks to God the Father for everything." (Ephesians 5:20) always.
giving isn't just a 30-day thing, either. it's a lifestyle. a command. a mission. serve. give. love. sacrifice. bless.
"Jesus looked at him and loved him. “One thing you lack,” he said.
“Go, sell everything you have and give to the poor,
and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me.”
-Mark 10:21
...what has the 30 Day Giving Challenge brought you to? what have you realized in 30 days of pure, whole-hearted, giving?
