I didn't realize the importance of community support when I started a nonprofit organization three years ago. Launching an organization like Gorbella's is risky because the life of it fully relies on the people it serves.
I know this now.
Every time Gorbella's hosts a fundraising event, hundreds of people - mostly moms - come out of the woodworks to show their support. Every time, I am overwhelmed with gratitude. Every time, I am amazed at God's provision. Every time, I am thankful beyond description.
And every time, I am fired up to keep this dream alive.
The Gorbella's Book Drive yesterday, sponsored by our local Chick-Fil-A and other wonderful local businesses, was a tremendous success. I haven't counted, but 500 books is a fair guesstimate of how many we collected in just two hours.
I love community support. You can see it in my face.
