moms, take pictures of the little things in the little moments, so that you will remember these fleeting days. take a picture of the baby monitor that you hold up to your ear and strain to hear the baby's breath. take a picture of the mobile that hangs above the crib, that you crank all the way up every night because it soothes your baby to sleep. take a picture of those tiny shoes, because soon he'll be in the next size, those will be packed away and later donated.
take a picture of them in their carseats. the carseats you agonized over and researched late into the night. the carseats that hold them day in and day out on the way to and from home. the carseats where they dance to their favorite song on the radio, eat fistfuls of Goldfish, kick the back of your seat, and where they are so incredibly comfortable that they fall fast asleep.
i have no idea what i looked like in a carseat. did i even sit in a carseat? did we ever go anywhere? there are no photos of me as a child in a carseat.
what about the lovey? the pacifier(s). the favorite sippy cup. the crayon collection. bath time. the changing table. the little clothes hanging in the closet. only you know the little things that are precious now that will be long gone in 1, 5, 10 years. take a picture, it'll last longer. take a picture, it'll spark heart-wrenching memories when you need them the most.
