DIY for a heartfelt Father's Day

Here are some simple yet sincere DIY ideas for celebrating Dad this weekend...courtesy of Gorbella's.

*Printable "You're My Hero" card from FamilyFun.com. Just click, print, and color!

*Make a Word Cloud. First, ask your children to tell you at least 8 words that describe Dad.
Write them down. Then go to http://www.wordle.net/ and follow the instructions for making
a word cloud all about Dad. Print it out and WHA-LA! Instant customized card. For something
extra special, print your word cloud onto an iron-on transfer and make Dad a T-shirt.

*Celebrate on Saturday. Father’s Day starts early at our local Whole Foods Market.
From 3-5pm this Saturday, Dads will be treated to FREE Sliders ‘n Suds at many Whole Foods stores in the US. Check the website for details.

*Cherished Handprints. You may remember the footprint Father’s Day craft hosted by
Gorbella’s last year. This year, do handprints! Handprint Poem: Ten tiny fingers,
that always want to play, That never stop exploring that wonder of today,
Ten tiny fingers, that from the very start, Will reach out for tomorrow yet always hold your heart.

*Photo bookmark. Find a favorite photo of your child(ren), or take one really quick,
print it out and glue it on a strip of construction or colored paper (approx 1”x6”), punch a
hole at the top and tie a ribbon thru the hole to make a custom bookmark for Dad.

*Cook up something special for Dad. This recipe is featured in Gorbella’s Family
Friendly Cookbook! Make it for Dad ~ he’ll love it!
